Title:   Organic agriculture sector is rapidly gaining momentum globally, driven by increasing consumer awareness of health and environmental concerns. Recognizing the importance of organic agriculture in promoting sustainable farming practices, Pakistan seeks to establish a comprehensive Organic Agriculture Act aligned with international standards, particularly those of the European Union (EU), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and IFOAM. This Act will provide a regulatory framework to support the growth of the organic agriculture sector in Pakistan while ensuring compliance with relevant national and international laws.

Scope of Work:

• Develop a credible, applicable, and validated Organic Agriculture Act for Pakistan aligned with the National Organic Agriculture Policy developed by CAB International.
• The Act should be aligned with EU, IFOAM and USDA Organic standards while considering the unique context and legal framework of Pakistan.
• Conducting a thorough review of existing organic agriculture policies and regulations in Pakistan and internationally.
• Analyzing EU, IFOAM and USDA Organic standards and identifying key components relevant to Pakistan's context.
• Drafting the Organic Agriculture Act incorporating provisions for certification, labeling, production, processing, marketing, and enforcement mechanisms.
• Conducting validation and feasibility assessments to ensure the practical applicability of the proposed Act within Pakistan's agricultural landscape.
• Providing technical support and expertise to relevant government agencies during the implementation phase.
• Participation and leading the Organic Agriculture Act facilitation meetings with provincial and federal agencies/Representatives.
• Review/Improve the OAA under the recommendations of Federal and provincial stakeholders consultation/Review/Validation Workshops
• Advocating the Organic Agriculture Act for approval from the respective federal authority
• Provide support in the submission and approval process of the Organic Agriculture Act.
